Dr. David A. George

Dr. George brings over 40 years combined teaching, training, and practical experience to this product. A Bachelors degree in economics, a Masters in public administration, and Doctorate in education (emphasis on adult education and organization development) have provided him with an excellent academic background in a wide range of business related subjects.

He has taught students at the undergraduate and graduate level in a variety of subjects such as management, general business, organization behavior, small business development, and critical thinking.

He directed and trained in a series of comprehensive training programs for Massachusetts state and local officials.

His practical experience, besides program administration, includes 11 years as CEO of two different academic institutions. Also, since 1997, he has headed up a small business-consulting firm.

Dr. George's interest in the small business arena stems from his own experiences and his belief that small business opportunity is a foundation piece for a vital democratic society. He's concerned, however, that the high failure rate of small businesses is causing unnecessary financial and psychological devastation. It is Dr. George's belief that adequate preparation prior to entering the small business world would prevent most of that failure.

Born and raised on the East Coast but now residing in Palm Desert, California (somebody had to do it), Dr. George has 3 grown daughters, and 7 grandchildren. When he is not otherwise occupied with his family and work, he recreates by playing tennis, golf, hiking, listening to music (it's getting mellower as he gets older) and reading an eclectic array of material.

Part of his philosophy of life comes from a saying attributable to Confucius. "If you love your job, you'll never have to work a day in your life." Imagine what kind of world we would have if we all loved our jobs.
